Why does Simplicity Egg Donation need so much family medical history?

Knowing the genetic history of the donors’ parents and grandparents plays a vital role in the selection process for our program.  We search for any known familial medical trends to establish likelihood of a carried genetic condition that may impact future children conceived with our donors’ eggs.

Ultimately, many intended parents choose to conduct more extensive genetic screening on potential egg donors using different blood tests available through their reproductive endocrinologist or other available services.  These tests can screen donors for many different genetic conditions and establish if they are carriers of any specific conditions.  These results can help parents feel even more confident about the genetic information of their selected donor.
